Profile
Sandra Broeren was born in California and grew up in Oregon. She attended Boston University for her BS, MPH, and MD. She did her residency in Family Medicine in Cheyenne, WY and from there moved to Alaska. She spent five years working in the bush in a small Yupik Eskimo community and then 6 years working in Anchorage with the Alaska Native and Native American population. After graduating from the UAB Palliative Medicine fellowship, she now works full time on Safe Harbor at the Veterans Administration hospital. She is married and adopted a Yupik Eskimo child who is now 8 years old. In addition she has 3 cats, 3 dogs, 2 rabbits and a fish. Her hobbies are photography and traveling.
